MAA is Excited to Announce the Fall WorkshopLayered Paper Collagewith Ronni Jolles

September 26, 2026
1pm - 4pm

At Oasis Learning Center & Gallery

Registration for MAA members and their guests open on July 25, and for nonmembers on August 29, 2026

Join a fun workshop where you’ll create a textured work of paper art that captures the mood and beauty of a villa with a summer garden.   Discover a fun new art form, using hundreds of kinds of paper as your medium! You will be creating a textured piece of artwork under the guidance of Ronni Jolles. You will be ripping, cutting, and manipulating paper, as you glue layers down onto an 8” x 10” stretched canvas. It’s a very hands on workshop!

All supplies will be provided by the instructor; hundreds of kinds of paper will be there for you to look through, in addition to the basic supplies you’ll need: canvas, archival glue, scissors, colored pencils, etc.

What to Bring:  Snacks and drinks to keep you energized

Fee:  $50 per MAA member and $60 guest and non-MAA member registration fee with additional $25 cost for supplies.  Full refund will be given if the participant cancels before one month of the event; there will not be any refund if the registrant cancels after August 26.

Participants must be 18 years or older.

Workshop Limit:  Total number of participants for this workshop is 15.

Workshop Location: Oasis Learning Center, Macy’s Home Store (2nd floor) 7125 Democracy Blvd, Bethesda, MD 20817

Workshop Instructor:

Ronni created this art form; after teaching Middle School art for many years, she became a fulltime paper artist in 2000.  Ronni found she missed teaching, and didn’t realize that this unique art form would be so accessible to those who are just beginners as well as for the more experienced students. It’s fun, and different, and a really great way to spend an afternoon!
