Artists typically know only one side of the art world - creating and displaying artwork.  There is another side that is lesser known - run by galleries and art centers.  These art businesses  are forced to make hard decisions everyday.

Director of Exhibitions at Strathmore, Lesley Lundgren, will shed light on some of these hard gallery and museum decisions by telling short stories ranging from donations to artist agreements to working with the public.

Lesley Lundgren has a background in public programming.  She studied Arts Management at American University, earning a Master of Arts in 2013. She was their first Master’s Candidate accepted into the Arts Business exchange program with Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London. Lesley is responsible for overseeing Strathmore’s exhibition schedule and delights in curating exhibitions that amaze audiences and support visual artists in Montgomery County and the surrounding region.
